The Health and Wellness

Question: Discuss about the Health and Wellness ? Answer : Introducation: Health and wellness is state of well being that is more than absence of disease. Being health and well is an attainable state that requires more than having or accessing medical treatment in a persons life. According to Claire in 2011, health is defined as combination of physical and mental well being which is more than absence of a disease. The physical well being involves the good functionality of body organs. Mental health refers to psychological, emotional and the social wellness. Mental health affects individuals feeling, actions and thinking. The wellness of an individual is defined as state of attaining positive emotions about life. Wellness incorporates all factors in individuals or group that promote positive feelings in life (Martin Giuseppe, 2016). A medical treatment refers to accessibility and ability to get health attention. Absence of diseases refers to a condition of normal or no disorder is present to a body part or organ. Health is a condition that is as a result of both physical and mental wellness. Physical health is attained by having balanced diets, absence of disease, optimal body weight, exercises and normal functioning of organs. Taking balanced diet gives the body nutrients that are important for it normal functions. Having enough nutrients for the body provides energy, defense and maintenance of tissues enabling healthy body. Regular exercises help the body control its metabolisms thereby leading an active life. This reduces body organs likelihood to disorders. Managing ones weight also allows an individual to lead a normal healthy life. Therefore, physical health is a result of factors that contribute to an active body and normal functioning. Mental health is achieved by psychological wellness and good emotions. This includes management of stress, depression and attitude. Mental health depends on physical health. For instance, physical illness causes stress and depressing leading to mental s uffering (McMillen, 2011). A prolonged physical illness leads to individuals becoming hopeless in life. A healthy life leads to long life and productivity of an individual. The body is also able to be fruitful in it lifespan (Claire, 2011). Wellness is a broad concept that incorporates all aspects in life that contribute to positive emotion. It includes social, economical and environmental factors that enhance good life (Nyman Nilsn, 2016). It also includes holistic health of an individual. Wellness is determined by perceived self health, productivity, social connectivity and factors in physical environment. The individual economical factors determine the quality of life that a person lives. Economical factors include employment, level of income, inflation and availability of goods in the market. Economical factors enable people live a comfortable or desired life. Perceived health and healthy behaviors enable the physical and mental parts of the body function normally and think properly. Environmental factors are conditions in the environment that promote good life and increase future expectation of better things. Wellness leads to positive emotions in a person life. They enhance contentment, satisfaction with life and general happiness (Claire, 2011). From this discussion outlined, other factors contribute to health and wellness apart from absence of diseases. It shows that health and wellness requires more than having a medical treatment.
